Lebanon cannot be done from a distance — and we have never had to. This is our home: the Beirut of galleries, designers, and rooms that never make the guides; vineyards in the Bekaa where lunch lasts until the light goes gold; Byblos and Batroun on the old Phoenician shore; the Cedars and the Qadisha Valley's cliff monasteries; Ottoman palaces in the Chouf.
